Welcome to the Sitter Connection. I started this organization with a few ideas in mind, though, as always this has been a long process. As a single parent of four wonderful children I found myself with huge obstacles before me as I tried to complete my college education. Which I shall have done so in May of 2001.
There were many issues such as payment, finding a reliable sitter, overcoming the objections regarding the neighborhood I lived in and so forth. I then began to contemplate how many other parents there were who were in this exact situation that I was in. How many mothers/fathers struggled to become more then their current situation allowed but were given that hurdle of "What am I to do with the children?", "Who will pay for child care?", "I might as well give up and just work at a low level job all my life". These issues led me to form the email address and learn how to create a web site. This is not the fanciest nor the best but it is done so with love.
This web site and as I hope eventually an organization has several purposes, many of which will end up complex, so I hope. For now though I shall list the current missions below and give a few pages to follow as our start. Should you feel you wish to be a host person for a particular state or community, send me an email with your information, web site link and your reason for wanting to be listed. I shall be more then happy to look it over and if appropriate work with you to help in our goal.
